SAMSN1 is a member of a novel gene family of putative adaptors and scaffold proteins containing SH3 and SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains (Claudio et al., 2001 [PubMed 11536050]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
A study in humans identified SAMSN1 as a differentially expressed gene significantly up-regulated in heart failure patients compared to non-heart failure patients following acute myocardial infarction in merged dataset analysis [Liu et al. DOI:10.1042/BSR20222552].
