Predicted to be located in membrane. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Jul 2025]
A study in humans identified the SLFN12L as an important gene with a positive coefficient in a lasso regression model derived from a DESeq2-selected list for age prediction using U.S. whole blood RNA-Seq data [Dørum et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2023.102976]. This research, which analyzed mRNA from dried blood stains and public datasets, demonstrated that lasso-selected gene lists, which included the SLFN12L, provided superior age prediction performance with a mean absolute error of 4.35 years in the U.S. dataset.
