Summary

Predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Predicted to be involved in regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in cytosol and nucleolus. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Jul 2025]

Forensic Context

A study in human keratinocytes demonstrated that the ZNF146 was downregulated (0.65-fold) following 5 Gy X-ray irradiation [Koike et al. DOI:10.1269/jrr.46.173]. A separate study in human burn patients analyzing blood samples found that the ZNF146 exhibited a significantly decreasing expression trend from 0 to 7 days after severe burn injury [Wu et al. DOI:10.1016/j.burns.2018.08.022].
