Forensic Context
A study in mice demonstrated that the circSMYD3 is highly expressed in cardiac tissue and functions as a sponge for miR-29b, promoting cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction [Sema Misir et al. A study in humans demonstrated that the circSMYD3 is a plasma biomarker, as it was one of 11 circRNAs selected by feature selection that could separate plasma samples taken from cervical cancer patients before and after tumor removal [Li et al.
