Forensic Context

A study in mice demonstrated that the circSNX13 is expressed at higher levels in embryonic skeletal muscle compared to adult tissue and functions as a sponge for miR-744, increasing the expression of Wnt5a and CaMKIId during myoblast differentiation [Di Agostino et al. DOI:10.3389/fcell.2020.00389]. A study in human neonates demonstrated that circSNX13 was significantly upregulated in peripheral blood from asphyxia-induced acute kidney injury patients compared to controls, with a fold change of 4.65 validated by qPCR [Pan et al. DOI:10.1002/kjm2.12644].
